THE STORY

Helping organizations rethink how well-being is designed into leadership, culture, and everyday systems.

For more than three decades, Suzy Harrington has worked across healthcare, higher education, military leadership, and organizational strategy. Helping leaders create healthier, more connected, and more sustainable organizations.

Through speaking, advisory work, teaching, and writing, she helps organizations turn well-being from intention into action.

THE PERSPECTIVE

Well-being is not separate from leadership, culture, or strategy. It is shaped by them.

Throughout her career, Suzy saw organizations investing heavily in wellness efforts while still struggling with burnout, silos, disconnection, and unsustainable systems.

That realization changed the direction of her work.

Today, she helps organizations move beyond fragmented initiatives and create more aligned, human-centered ways of working. Where well-being becomes part of how leadership, communication, and culture operate every day.

THE EXPERIENCE

A career shaped by leadership, service, and systems-thinking.

Suzy began her career as an Air Force nurse before stepping into leadership roles across healthcare, higher education, and organizational well-being.

Over the years, her work evolved from individual care and prevention education toward helping organizations rethink how well-being is embedded into systems, operations, and culture.

THE CONVERSATION

Translating well-being from theory into operational strategy.

Through speaking, advisory work, and systems-level collaboration, Suzy helps organizations rethink how well-being is understood, implemented, and sustained.

Her work bridges strategy with practical implementation, helping leaders create more aligned and sustainable organizational cultures.

THE FRAMEWORK

The Harrington Well-Being Model was created to make systems-thinking more practical, visible, and actionable.

After decades working across leadership systems and organizations, Suzy recognized a common challenge:

Most organizations understood that well-being mattered, but struggled to connect it across leadership, communication, culture, and operational strategy.

That insight led to the creation of the Harrington Well-Being Model.

Today, the model helps leaders better understand how purpose, people, priorities, pathways, and practices influence one another across an entire organization

“Dr. Harrington elevates the conversation on well-being from individual behaviour to organizational design. Centering on purpose, she shows that an organization with a strong “why” can manage any “how.”…”
